The Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) was set up by the Lagos State Law No 13 of July 2004 to regulate and control the erection and installation of Telecom Mast and Towers for safety and standards in the interest of the public health.

The law setting up the Agency was published in the official gazette No 23 volume 37 on 27th August 2004. The board of the Agency was inaugurated on Wednesday November 16, 2005 by the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

The Agency effectively commenced operation in June, 2006. The Agency has its Head Office at No 2, Yusuf Close, Off Hakeem Balogun Street, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.

Consequently, the Agency is the only organ of Government mandated to deal with the following:

Registration of all owners and operators of masts, towers, parabolic and other types of antenna and similar structures for the purposes of sanitizing the environment which has been clustered  by all sorts of substandard structures thereby endangering the lives and properties of law-abiding citizens.

Regularize existing as well as future infrastructure at internationally acceptable standards.
 
Develop Database of all existing Telecommunications and similar infrastructure erected throughout the state and maintaining and updating the Database to include future developments.
      
Monitoring consciously the length and breath of the state to ensure that infrastructure constructed are of high quality materials of international standards and consistently maintained to remain in a proper state and
      
Enforcing the law and its attendant regulations to ensure proper adherence to the Telecommunications infrastructure law and regulations issued by the Agency from time to time.
