PROCEDURE FOR GRANTING RIGHT OF WAY TO LAY CABLES AND PIPES IN THE STATE

STEP 1

The person/organization shall formally apply to the Agency to dig.  The intended length, width and depth of ducting/trenching are to be clearly stated.

STEP 2

Joint inspection by LASIMRA and the applicant to confirm the veracity of the proposed excavation works.

STEP 3

Rates are to be calculated by LASIMRA and forwarded to the applicants.  The rates are in 3 parts:

i)            Tar cut

ii)            Earth cut

iii)           Cost of reinstatement/repairs

STEP 4

Payment made by the applicant.

STEP 5

LASIMRA issues letter of permit.

STEP 6

The Agency Team Continues the monitoring of applicants’ field activities.

STEP 7

Repair of dug roads by LASIMRA upon completion of project.  In exceptional cases the contractor is allowed to resurface/repair dug roads

STEP 8

Issuance of clearance letter to the contractor after satisfactory completion of road repairs by LASIMRA.
